5 minute Market Scrunchies Crochet Pattern

I know we are having MUCH fewer fall markets, but that doesn’t mean lots of us aren’t still preparing for an upcoming craft show or community festival.

Last year I participated in a Christmas Handmade Craft Show and one of my bestsellers was velvet scrunchies!  I highly recommend crocheting some while you sit behind your booth if you have any free time – customers will inevitably ask what you are working on and I got so many sales this way that I couldn’t keep up with the demand and had to take orders.

I’ve included TWO easy scrunchy patterns – one has points like a star and the other has more rounded floral petals.

Stack your scrunchies on a simple paper towel holder to prominently display them on your table.

I designed these two scrunchie patterns to crank out super quick so you have a nice impulse buy at your booth – I sell mine inexpensively at 2/$5 since these are smaller scrunchies and they only take me 5 minutes or less each!  Have fun!

Tools and Materials:

That’s it!

Pattern Notes:

  • These are smaller hair ties for thinner hair, they work up super fast and are easy to sell cheap!
  • Use any velvet or other yarn you have lying around – this is a great stash buster.
  • I like to tie my ends together and weave them through lots of stitches, even securing with a needle and thread so the slick velvet won’t unravel.

Abbreviations:

  • sl st – slip stitch
  • sc – single crochet
  • hdc – half double crochet
  • dc – double crochet
  • tc – triple crochet
  • picotch2 – chain 2, slip stitch into the back bump of the 2nd chain from your hook.

Now, time for the Patterns!
